Pet Owners

So in January we finally got a pet. We were only ready for a low-maintenance pet. The initial tank and gift card came from Santa (Eliot wished for a sucker fish), but the actual pulling the tank together came in January. We started out with three fish (Simon, Otto and Piranha). Then we added Cheetah to our family. I messed up on the feeding for Simon the sucker fish and we ended up with a high algae tank. It finally became too much for Otto, the guppy fish. My children have now dealt with death first hand. Otto was Ben's fish, so these are his words he wanted on the memorial. Eliot was allowed to add "2012" (this was important to him). We cleaned the tank, purchased Otto the 2nd, and all 4 fish seem to be doing much better. As you can imagine, the woman at the pet store got an ear full when we went to purchase Otto the 2nd. As we were leaving she turned to me and said "those are the cutest voices and conversation I have ever had" then she said "I imagine you don't get much done during the day." So true. So true.
