It's been a super crazy month and a half. So here is an attempt to sort of catch up. In mid July Ben had surgery to remove his tonsils, adenoids and put in eartubes. Ben took his moose with him to get surgery. He had a lot of fun getting moose through surgery prep and the doctors, bless them, played along beautifully. Overall Ben is a really sweet kid when he is sick. The first 48 hours were so smooth that we got a little too comfortable. The next two weeks were filled with some strong down moments as he struggled to take his medicine, eat or drink. He was pretty cranky too. But who can blame him? He came crying to me at one point and said "Mommy, there is something stuck in my throat and it really really really hurts!!" I think all those comments about this surgery being easier for little kids are made by people who have either blocked the memory or haven't lived closely with a little one who has gone through it. The night before his surgery, Ben dictated this card to his tonsils and adenoids. These are his exact words. He really is a cute kid.
