Eliot & Benjamin

For those who missed the saga. Ben asked Santa for only one item this year. Just one. He wanted yellow swim goggles. He wanted goggles to be like Eliot, to pretend swim on our hardwoods, etc. And yellow because that is his favorite color. The actual ones are more orange than yellow, but he doesn't seem to mind. Sadly shipping was way delayed - still not sure why - and they didn't arrive by Christmas. There were tears that morning, but thankfully he had a ton of presents to distract him. We created an elaborate story as an excuse. Santa wrote a letter apologizing that the package must have fallen off the sleigh. When it finally arrived, there was another present to apologize for the tardiness. All hilarious, but does put into question the need for making up stories to support a fake story about Santa in general. Still not sure how I feel about building up Santa in the first place. But for now, going with the flow.
