Eliot & Benjamin

Jared's parents and brother came to spend a delightful week with us. On Sunday we chose a beautiful day to go see DC. Unknown to us, it was the Cherry Blossom Festival and quite crowded, but we had a great time. Let's start out with the most bizarre part of the day. Our camera flew out of Jared's backpack and went right down into the crevice of a fountain next to the Korean War Memorial. Jared fished it out with two sticks and amazingly it survived. The blossoms were really breathtaking. Both Ben and Eliot loved them. Jared spent time discussing with Eliot some of the meanings of the monuments. Eliot spent a lot of time going from one restricted sign to the next reminding us what they meant. Ben LOVED being on Jared's shoulders. So much so, that it almost looked like he would bounce right off of them. Eliot took advantage and asked to be carried in the backpack. While the family spent time in the Holocaust museum, Jared and I played with the kids on the lawn. It was a really wonderful day. (not sure why two of these photos continue to insist on printing the wrong way, sorry)
